Reis was featured in the book Seven Graphic Designers published in English and Japanese language editions by Graphic-sha in 1985. To coincide with the publication, each of the international designers showcased in the book was invited to create four promotional posters with subjects of their choosing. The large-format (28” x 40”) posters were printed in Japan by Mitsumura Printing Company.
In his Madame Butterfly poster, Reis evoked the beauty and drama of a favorite Puccini opera.
