1988–1997

Success in the previous decade attracted new clients to Reis’ downtown San Francisco studio location. The Sutter Street team expanded with young designers and art school interns, hired to support Reis’ concepts and vision. A range of new clients included San Francisco Symphony, The Annenberg Foundation, The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Portland-based Columbia Willamette Development Corporation, The Nature Company, and The Lindsay Wildlife Museum. Projects for these clients encompassed package, product, and catalog design; architectural color consulting, and signage.

Reis created numerous packages and labels for Duty Free Shops in Asia. For wholesale contract companies Deepa Textiles and Spinneybeck Leather, Reis developed new identities, branding, collateral materials, and swatch collections. Nordstrom retained Reis to create imagery and branding for 5 flagship in-store cafés around the country. He worked with Nordstrom’s interior design firm to create interiors, menus, and graphics to evoke a vintage European café ambience.
