2008–2017
In 2011 the San Francisco Presidio Trust retained Reis to work with Waterford Properties on the first hotel in the Presidio, the national park near the Golden Gate Bridge. For the new Inn at the Presidio, Reis created branding and all related graphic design elements. The new inn occupies a National Historic Landmark, a three story Colonial Revival red-brick building, originally constructed to be the Bachelor Officers’ Quarters of the military base. It was renovated blending historic character with contemporary comfort. The graphic style Reis brought to the twenty-two deluxe guest accommodations incorporated the same blend of historic and contemporary sensibility. The many elements he designed included guest room and bath accessories, menus, brochures, stationery, and directories.
In addition to the Presidio project, during this decade Reis developed relationships with wine industry clients in Mendocino and Sonoma Counties. He created wine labels and began what would become an ongoing series of commemorative posters for wine festivals, most notably the Anderson Valley Pinot Noir and White Wine festivals.
