Many of Reis’ early posters and graphic designs featured soft, sensuous, and sometimes erotic drawings of flowers, fruits, or vegetables. Most often these drawings were rendered in graphite using cotton and eraser, also in colored pencil or pastel.
Some of the works collected here were created as illustrations for event posters. The stylized Rose was the focal element of the 1971 exhibition poster for the Gertrude and Leo Stein collection.at theSan Francisco of Modern Art. In the Flora & Fauna collection the original renderings have been reproduced as high-quality signed giclée prints on fine archival paper.
